Write Something Join The Republic as a Full-Time Editorial Intern

The Republic is hiring a full-time editorial intern to support our Lagos team. Responsibilities will include supporting our web and print publishing, writing to develop online engagement (through social media and newsletters) and assisting with external relations.

The internship is aimed at youth corpers who possess:

⎈ Top-tier academic credentials
⎈ Excellent research and writing skills
⎈ Demonstrable interest in Nigerian affairs
⎈ Proven ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear, accessible way
⎈ Competence in developing content for Twitter and Instagram
Strong networking ability
⎈ Ability to work at a fast pace, remotely and independently while part of a team

Prior experience writing for a news site helps, as do copyediting skills and some HTML know-how. You should be a voracious reader who is self-motivated and eager to learn.

Most importantly, we are looking for genuine interest in The Republic and what/how we publish, and our core topics: climate change; culture & society; economics; gender & feminism; history; international affairs; politics & security; science & technology.
